1. I've just eaten a Flake and made a right old mess.

2. The cat has become quite partial to Tesco prime cuts in jelly. (They smell vile though.)

3. In WHSmith this morning the old bat on the stationery till wouldn't serve me and wanted me to queue at the front even though there was only one muppet on that till and a queue of 14 people. I pointed this out. You can do that when you become an old bat yourself; you cease to be concerned what anyone else thinks of you and just fight against injustice - or summat.

4. I have bought a bright pink raincoat - I have a residual concern that I look a bit like a neon sausage. However, my choice of attire was influenced by the fact that when my office was evacuated the other day because of a fire, everyone was wearing a black coat - not the same one obv, as that would have been both bizarre and a bit of a tight squeeze - but still! Rage agaisnt the machine!

5. My husband's idea of sweeping the kitchen floor is to leave the sweepings in a pile and then wander off and do something else. The cat is now sitting in the sweepings.
