I use FireFox and have an add on that looks at the security of sites - all of a sudden, the forum is bringing up all sorts of poor reputation messages. Anyone know why? Did something change? I think everything is the same here as the last time I visited. Shocked

I think Khalyn had the same issue with the same add-in. Nothing changed from my side of things, but then its all hosted at bizhat. Perhaps they have some less reputable forums Smile

Yeah I reckon that must be it because it's not a happy bunny. If I close the warning it just pops back up constantly. It's the WOT add-on btw, is that the same one?

Yeah I get the same messages with WOT. I think it will be more to do with bizhat than anything else.

Haha that's why I'm here as well. I authorised mage master the other day after a long time of not having to authorise anyone and I don't know if that kick started something. It's bloody annoying. I've come to see if there is a common address they're coming from so I can block them. For now though I'll take you off the admin list so you stop getting them. It's a bit relentless.

Lol, I wasn't accusing you of being involved mm! I just wondered if the spambots have some way of seeing when a forum activates an account and thinks it's a good time to attack as it shows a forum is active. I don't know if that's possible or not, it's just we don't normally get new registrations and I never activate any username I don't recognise and it happened right after I activated you. When i'm on the pc next i'm going to check to see if it's possible to disable all registrations and if anyone wants in they'll have to message one of us at the other place and we'll arrange it from there. It's calmed down a little but they're still coming in.

Just totting up how many spam registrations there had been before I switched it off - must be about 100! And I don't like it being untidy so I'm deleting them all from the memberlist one by one. Pesky spambots.
